They’re in charge of doing lab analysis for scientific and medical procedures performed and to determine if there is presence or absence of diseases. Additionally, they are providing info on what should be the appropriate diagnosis to be made.

Computer Savvy

Medical technologists might be seen as well in gathering tissue, urine, blood and several other samples to perform analysis. To be able to do this, they have to know how to use a microscope and several other kinds of medical lab equipment.

Furthermore, they must have high degree of expertise in doing it. Knowing how to work with chemicals are required too for some testing procedures.

Having good computer skills are vital as well to succeed in this profession. Medical technologists are usually using complex computer programs in running diagnostic procedures. Furthermore, majority of the modern medical lab equipment is digitalized and powered by computers.

Besides, computers have the ability of creating more accurate reports and results in which coroners, physicians and several other individuals rely on.

Aside from working with equipment and samples, medical technologists should be able to possess strong analytical skills. This will play a vital role in enabling them to come up with informed, scientific decisions on what they are observing.
